Shane Vance is a local guitar player celebrated for his colorful fusion of jazz and R&B. With a versatile repertoire that spans punk rock to free jazz and everything in between, he has earned a devoted following of students and admirers who deeply appreciate his dedication and reverence for music.

Biography:
On the day of Shane's 7th birthday, he received his first guitar, which still hangs on his wall today, alongside his ever-expanding collection. This visual encapsulates Shane's lifelong journey as a musician; constantly evolving and exploring new horizons while keeping his roots nearby. The torch of guitar tradition was passed down to Shane by his uncle, an enigmatic figure among three brothers. Embracing this role, Shane embarked on his odyssey of musicianship. During high school, he delved into the realms of classic rock and jazz, honing his skills, and nurturing his musical sensibilities. It was not long before he took to the stage, showcasing his talents after completing his education. At the age of 22, he joined a free jazz group that garnered significant attention within the valley, but later he ventured on to pursue his current artistic endeavors.

When Shane is not entertaining audiences with his performances, he is devoted to sharing his musical knowledge with eager students from his private studio. He finds immense joy in crafting curriculum and is currently in the process of writing a comprehensive "functional guitar" methodology. His students greatly admire his ability to break down complex concepts into easily executable steps. Among his favorite topics to teach are Chord Comping and Improvisational Soloing, where he imparts invaluable insights and techniques.

As a recording artist, Shane has independently released two albums, showcasing his prodigious talent and creative vision. Furthermore, he has collaborated with artists across various genres, leaving his mark on multiple tracks. Notably, his recording experiences flourished during his time with The Asim Project, a band that released multiple albums, boasting over three hours of music. For two and a half years, they consistently performed shows before going separate ways.

Looking to the future, Shane envisions spending most of his time teaching and performing. He collaborates with a talented drum instructor, working on a comprehensive rhythm curriculum tailored specifically for guitarists. Amidst these artistic pursuits, Shane is also building a fulfilling personal life with his fiancé in their new home.
