Desert Hills Community School of Music
Desert Hills Community School of Music serves the North Scottsdale, Carefree, and Cave Creek areas with world-class music instruction for all ages and ability levels. Located at the foot of the boulders on the scenic campus of Desert Hills Presbyterian Church, our offerings include:
- Group and private music lessons for keyboard (piano, organ), plucked strings (guitar, ukulele, mandolin), woodwinds (flute, clarinet, oboe, saxophone), brass (trumpet, French horn, trombone, baritone/euphonium, tuba), strings (violin, viola, cello, double bass) and voice
- An audition-based Advanced Music Program (AMP) for children ages 7-18 who show extraordinary dedication to musical excellence
- A Music Exploration program for children ages 6-10 who show early interest in music
- Community ensembles for all ages, including Saxophone Ensemble, Flute Choir, and Community Band
- Instrument-specific masterclasses, in partnership with the Scottsdale Philharmonic, to help students prepare for Regional and All-State band and orchestra auditions
- Summer Band Camp for middle- and high-school musicians (June 3-7, 2024)

Band Camp
June 3-7, 2024
Registration is now open for the second annual Desert Hills Band Camp. With an all-star faculty line-up, daily concerts by pro musicians, small & large ensemble playing, and all-new electives, this year's camp promises to be filled with lots of fun, new friends, and musical growth. Do You Play the Saxophone?
The Spring Session of Saxophone Ensemble is forming now! If you play the saxophone, please join this unique group in preparing a Broadway-themed show to perform in cooperation with the Desert Hills Flute Choir. The group is open to saxophone players of ALL ages and levels. We've had players from 11-87! Rehearsals start April 7.
Faculty Concert
April 14, 4pm
Yamaha Artist Vitaly Serebriakov, piano, and Gregory Hamilton, cello, will perform the music of Miaskovsky, Beethoven, and Rachmaninoff on Sunday, April 14 at 4:00pm in the main sanctuary of Desert Hills Presbyterian Church. The performance is free and open to the public. Stay after to meet these world-class artists and teachers.
