Hamilton / Serebriakov Concert - April 14, 2024

On Sunday, April 14, DHCSM Artistic Director Vitaly Serebriakov joins forces with cello instructor Gregory Hamilton to present an hour of music by Beethoven, Myaskovsky and Rachmaninoff. Serebriakov, a Yamaha Artist, and Hamilton, principal cellist with the Scottsdale Philharmonic, are both critically acclaimed musicians with international performance and teaching credits. You won’t want to miss this show! The concert starts at 4:00pm and will last about an hour. Stay afterwards to meet the artists.

The Music of Broadway

Join us on Saturday, May 11 at 4:00pm as the Desert Hills Saxophone Ensemble and Flute Choir combine to bring you an hour of music from favorite Broadway shows. The concert is FREE and open to the public. It will be held in the main sanctuary of Desert Hills Presbyterian Church (34605 N. Tom Darlington Rd., Scottsdale).

Desert Hills Band Camp - June 3-7, 2024

The second annual Desert Hills Band Camp will be held June 3-7, from 8:30-12:30 daily. If you are a woodwind, brass, or percussion player ages 11-16, join us for this dynamic week of music instruction and FUN! Camp features an all-star faculty line-up, SIX electives to choose from, daily playing in small and large ensembles, and daily concerts by professional musicians. Musicians auditioning for All-State Band or Orchestra get one shot to impress a jury. With stakes that high, music students need to enter the audition room fully prepared to succeed. That's why DHCSM has partnered with the Scottsdale Philharmonic to offer masterclasses for young musicians who are preparing for All-State auditions. Over two days, in instrument-specific classes, top Scottsdale Philharmonic musicians, along with DHCSM's excellent instructors, will be providing instruction, guidance, skill development, and audition practice for all band and string instruments. Spring Flute Choir Now Accepting Sign-Ups

If you play the flute, join the Desert Hills Flute Choir in preparing a Broadway-themed show to perform for an audience. Rehearsals begin Sunday, January 28 and occur roughly every other week through May 5, with a final performance on Saturday, May 11. You do not need to attend every rehearsal to join! Join the New Desert Hills Community Band!

If you play a band instrument -- or you used to play one and have been thinking you might like to do so again -- this group is for you! Sign-ups are going on now for anyone age 16+ (and younger by audition) who would like to play in a group with other local musicians. There are only five rehearsals, followed by a performance on Sunday, March 17. As you can imagine, there will be some fun Irish music in the repertoire!
